Dr. Douglas is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He attended and completed medical school at the University of Alabama, School of Medicine in Birmingham. He also served his residency at the Eye Foundation Hospital at the University of Alabama. Aside from that, he also had his fellowship in Bascom Palmer Eye Institute located in Miami, FL, where he served as a vitreoretinal fellow.

He is a proud member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retina Specialists, Alabama Academy of Ophthalmology, Alabama State Medical Society, and the Mobile County Medical Society. He specializes in macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal tear/detachment, macular hole, macular pucker, and vitreous surgery.

Dr. Douglas joined Premier Medical in 2001. He is married to Dr. Allison Douglas, and they have three children. He enjoys wildlife photography, fishing, and spending time with his children.
